Day
1: Arrive Glasgow International Airport.
Collect car rental
and transfer to Glasgow City centre hotel.
Stay overnight
at The Carlton George Hotel.
Set in the heart
of Glasgow’s city centre, the Carlton George combines state
of the art technology, absolute luxury and impeccable service.
It is located minutes from the shops with Princes Square, House
of Fraser, The Buchanan Galleries and the Italian Centre. Your
hotel is adjacent to Queen Street Station and twenty minutes from
the Airport.
Bedroom would be
an Executive Double ensuite and the hotel lounges have open fires
and complimentary bar to relax.
Day
2: Drive to Argyll on the West Coast.
Stay overnight
at Holly Tree Hotel, Kentallen, by Appin, Argyll.
The Holly Tree
is situated at the very edge of Loch Linnhe and enjoys spectacular
views to the mountains of Ardgour. The Hotel is a haven for quiet
relaxation and enjoyment. Bedroom would be a Superior Double ensuite.
Created from a railway station and built at the turn of the century
in the Glasgow Art Nouveau style, and the hotel has been carefully
enlarged in a very comfortable but relaxed manner whilst retaining
the more interesting features of the original building. The grounds
extend for a mile along the shore and include a private pier and
slipway.
Loch Linnhe is
a sea loch forming part of the great geological divide in the
Highlands running from Oban to Inverness. It is a perfect location
for a stay to remember.
Day
3: Transfer north to Inverness in the Highlands.
Stay overnight
at The Priory Hotel, Beauly, Inverness-shire.
"Oui, c’est
un beau lieu", was how Mary Queen of Scots described Beauly and
gave the village its name in 1554. In the busy central square
stands your hotel, a comfortable establishment with an excellent
reputation for good food, first class accommodation and friendly
efficient service. Bedroom would be a Superior Double ensuite.
Beauly is 12 miles
west of Inverness and an ideal base for touring the Highlands
and Loch Ness and an excellent base for walking, horse riding,
golf, fishing, sailing and many other outdoor activities.
Day
4: Drive south to Perthshire.
Stay the night
at Pine Trees Hotel, Pitlochry, Perthshire.
Hotel is a former
Victorian mansion house and is small and select, combining luxurious
accommodation with individual service and attention, in a glorious
setting. Bedroom would be Superior Double ensuite. It is surrounded
by 10 acres of garden and is a private haven.
Ancient castles
and historic sites are within easy reach, or you could explore
Pitlochry itself, visiting whiskey distilleries, or walking
to Pitochry Dam to spot a salmon leaping up the famous ladder.
Day
5 & 6: Continue
south to Edinburgh.
Stay two nights
at Cannings Hotel in Edinburgh.Cannings
was originally five Edwardian townhouses and is facing on to
a cobbled street with gardens beyond. Bedrooms are individually
designed with care, while peaceful lounges provide a retreat
from the city bustle.
It is a very pleasant
walk to the centre of Edinburgh and Princes Street, Edinburgh
Castle and all its cultural delights. It is a very central hotel,
located in the West End of the city and great for city tours and
close to the Castle.
Day
7: Transfer back to Glasgow International Airport.
Drop off car rental
